First Blog Entry. Trooper, Ra McGuire's Book "Here for a Good Time". Nation-wide beer bet. Hiding this Blog from My Mother

Here we go. My first blog entry.

This is an intresting experience as there are many things I just don't know about 'blogging'. I am not writing an e-mail to friends, I am not publishing an article for strangers... I'm doing both! Whacked! I'm sure I'll get the hang of it though. So much for saying nasty things about Sue! She'll love the attention of being mentioned in the first paragraph. Go, Bianca!

I have been reading Ra (pronounced 'Ray') McGuire's book "Here for a Good Time" (if the band Trooper ever finds out that he used that title...they'll surely sue). I really have to say to everybody... READ THIS BOOK.

I took this photo from Ra McGuire's official Web-site (you can get the book there too)

If you don't like the book, you'll have to explain to me why and I'll buy ya a beer, and if you do like it...hey, I guess you had a good read and I get a beer. I think I'll be owed beers from Vancouver to St. John's. Not entirely a bad thing!

Anyway, his book is more or less what I would have called a series of journal entries. It seems that an online journal is called a blog. Now I have one. It should be handy as I have many friends all across the country and it's hard e-mailing everybody on a regular basis when there are so many new things going on.

I have to apologize to my francophone friends because I don't think I'll be doing this in French (je traduirai des parties si vous le voulez. Merci et je vous aime).

For those I know, please forgive the impersonal touch... though you will be mentioned (always with care and respect). Mind you, I could have a field day with a few MP's here!

For those of you who don't know me...thank you for finding this interesting enough to want to read it.

For those of you I call "Mom"..... please turn off the computer and go make a pot o'tea. Oh, and for those of you who know Ma... I trust this will be our little secret. Geeeeez, she'd be on me every day!

This will be a short posting as I am going out (again...plan to lie to Ma about that one).

Tomorrow's posting will talk about: Liquor Store Windows, Harbour Hoppers, Members of Parliament (good stuff though), and surely something that will come to mind tonight.

I think this'll be fun.
